The talented 18-year-old is expected to be out for at least two to three weeks, raising concerns about his ability to play in El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26.

Barcelona’s young winger Lamine Yamal has been injured again. The young superstar will not be able to play in Spain’s upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifiers due to a groin injury. Barcelona said in a statement on Friday that Yamal’s groin injury has returned after the Champions League match against PSG, BBC reported.

The talented 18-year-old is expected to be out for at least two to three weeks, raising concerns about his ability to play in El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26.

Yamal had just returned from a three-week injury layoff. He also contributed to Barca’s win over Real Sociedad. He then played the full 90 minutes against PSG before being injured again at the end of the match.

But Spain coach Luis de la Fuente said on Friday, “There is no conflict with Flick. We are preparing for an important match, that is the main thing.” Barca coach Hansi Flick has previously expressed his anger at the national team, alleging that Yamal’s injury worsened during World Cup qualifiers in September.

Spain will also be without Nico Williams and Dani Carvajal for next week’s matches against Georgia (October 11) and Bulgaria (October 14), while Alvaro Morata has also been left out of the squad due to a slow start.

Spain is already at the top of Group E with a full six points from two matches.
